I need to give this young lady a full post, because her story is pretty incredible. But for today, there is this…
Andrea Miller – who performed the first Snatches/Clean & Jerks of her life at the Outlaw camp in West Ipswich, Queensland, back in January of 2013 – will officially be representing New Zealand, at the IWF World Weightlifting Championships. She is the first Outlaw Barbell lifter to represent her country at an international meet, and will be looking to do the same in Rio next year.
I personally feel this is one of the most significant accomplishments ever for an Outlaw athlete, especially considering she’s spent most of the last three years competing in CrossFit. I am also incredibly happy that Andy is our first athlete to achieve something this huge. She is one of the most humble and hard-working people I’ve ever coached, and after two years of heartbreaking setbacks, this just feels right.
Not to mention, this will be her second time competing at a World Championship (100m Hurdles – 2009).
