Today, we’re featuring two very cool snatches…
The first is Oxana Slivenko snatching 210#/95.5kg at the Meridian Regional. I watched this event live – just to watch her snatch – and what you don’t see is her judge telling her she can try again. She literally didn’t know. She looks at him, he points at the bar and nods, and she runs back over and hits it.
I mean sure, she’s snatched like 30kg more than this, and has an Olympic Silver Medal in Weightlifting, but it was really exciting?
The second is Jared Fleming, in DC this weekend, snatching 156kg/345#, on his way to 165kg/365#, in jeans. Apparently these jeans are flexible like sweatpants, but I dont care, they’re still jeans.

1a) 4X8 Paused Strict Ring Dips (3 count pause in bottom, 3 count pause at lockout, add weight if 8 UB with pauses is too easy) – rest 90 sec.
1b) 4X3 Jerk Grip BTN Push Press + 2 Jerk Grip OHS – heaviest possible, rest 90 sec.
7 rounds of:
4 T&G Power Clean & Push Jerks (begin @ 155/105#)
4 Strict Pullups
3 Bar MU
Rest 1:00 after each round.
*Increase load on PC&PJ by 10# each round until you cannot complete 4 reps, then lower weight by 10# and use for the remainder of the workout.
