Multiple new camp dates will be up tomorrow. Including: Salt Lake City UT, Vancouver BC, Butte MT, and Playa Del Carmen MX.

Am I correct in saying that Montana has no speed limit? Anyone up there have a GT-R or Veyron I can borrow? (I’d prefer the Veyron, FYI). A Ducati will work also, but it seems like it’ll be a little too chilly to pull off anything really fast. So let’s stick with the Veyron, or the GT-R, or even some kind of a Porsche thing. I’ll pretty much take anything that goes over 150, unless it’s a Honda with farty exhaust, I hate that.

Also just realized I’d forgotten to share the group pic from the Cape Town, South Africa camp. Absolutely incredible experience, thank you guys so much for bringing us over.

WOD 140624:

BBG

Snatch: 2rm – 1×1@95%, 1×1@90%

Strength

As long as you want to establish a 1RM Back Squat.

Notes: The Snatches should provide a good warmup, but you will still need some Squat sets of 2-3 reps. Once you reach the 80-90% range, take 2 minutes rest then perform a “Walkout” (simply set up like you’re going to squat, walk out of the rack, and hold the weight on your back for 5 seconds – DO NOT attempt to squat – belts are recommended for this movement) with 5-10% more than your projected maximal Squat. If you are projecting 400#, walk out with approximately 425#. After your “Walkout”, rest 2 minutes then begin your near maximal and maximal attempts. If you have not missed an attempt you may go slightly over the time limitation.

Conditioning

For time:

100 Double-Unders
5 Rope Climbs 15′
20 Hang Clean to Thrusters 135/95#
5 Rope Climbs 15′
100 Double-Unders

  4. BBG: 170#(PR) -this was my snatch PR, I doubled it with a bit more in the tank
Strength: 305# (+10#PR) Glad to break 300 finally, Hatch(or extended Hatch) and I really don’t mix well for big PRs (btw had 315 out of the hole but stopped dead just above parallel)

Sn: 185#; got one at 190#; drop sets done

BS: Due to groin, I only wanted to go up as high as I felt comfortable. Got up to 95% off 355#, and I am happy with that.

    Squats
No surprise, I hit 305 (crappy) then failed 350. Hit 325 in the program. Hatch isn’t for me. I need more frequency. Last year I did hatch and unPR’d while obtaining a sore knee and the knee has been finicky for weeks and I unPR. Whatever’s next, I’m thinking Smolov.

    CND
    14:45.

    • +1 – I believe this was my second time doing hatch, my number was down like 30# yesterday and my legs feel weak as well. I hope I dont see Hatch come up again for quite a few cycles…

      • I agree you and Junkin, Hatch has not really been a help for me as much as I want. Yes my Snatch and C&J went up but that could have just been from the BBG work and more experience (following Outlaw for ~1yr).

I liked Spencer’s Cycle with the BS/FS sets and Smolov is great for my legs

  9. Conn: done
    BBG
Snatch: 2rm – up to 205 185/185. Felt terrible here today
Strength: Up to 460-was a good rep, felt awful stopped -15 but didn’t take it all the way out today
Conditioning: For time- 9:39, grip was smoked 13 1/2 ft rope so no jumping
    100 Double-Unders
    5 Rope Climbs 15′
20 Hang Clean to Thrusters 135#
    5 Rope Climbs 15′
    100 Double-Unders

  10. Doubled 180-PR snatch.

Heaviest squat was at 345 which felt like a tank on my back. Tried to PR at 385 (old pr of 375) and couldn’t even get above parallel.

Couple weeks ago when we squatted 102.5%, 375 went up easily. Don’t know what had te adverse affect but my squat wasn’t there yesterday.

  11. BBG) 150#
Strength) 345# – Failed 365 & 360. Hit 375# a few weeks ago, so this was a very disappointing session.

    Cond – 18:06
