It looks like our in-house winner for 14.1 is the same man that hit our first 400# Clean a week ago, Nick Bloch. There’s a funny story behind his 437 reps, which I may get into tomorrow (with video). Without saying too much, Nick was a little sore today.
Great work, Nick. 400# Clean, then an 11th place in the world finish on the lightest workout imaginable – I guess strength actually doesn’t hurt capacity.
This made me think how much fun it would be if we had a custom leaderboard with EVERYONE who is following the site. Yes, it’ll take forever, but hey – Paul’s got nothing else to do.
If you’d like to be included on the Outlaw leaderboard, please send an email to (edit – sorry) OutlawInstagram@gmail.com, by Thursday night, and we’ll get you up.
1) EMOM for 5:00 – 2 Power Snatches @ 100% of last week plus 5#.
2) EMOM for 5:00 – 2 Power Clean & Push Jerks @ 100% of last week plus 5#.
30 min AMRAP (at HR pace) of:
*This entire piece should be paced to keep heart rate below 160 BPM. If you do no have a HR monitor stop at each transition and gauge HR.
I sent the email and got a message telling me it failed to send. anyone else have this problem?
Didn’t work for me either.
HA! Paul probably blocked his email… Joke’s on us
Didn’t work for me either
1) 200# (9/10)
2) 230# (10/10)
9 rounds + 25m
1) 165 (12/12)
2) 205 (12/12)
-I did these starting at 00:00 and last set starting at 5:00, so actually 6 rounds. Not sure if that correct or not but that’s what I did.
Cond: Only had time for 5 rounds.
That’s usually the way I do them; was/am nursing a forearm/elbow last week so only did 5 rounds then, and stuck with it this week. In the grand scheme of things, probably doesn’t huge difference.
6 rounds + 500m
-This was hard to string together MU and keep HR optimal…looks like I need to work some HR training
EMOM: Snatch at 130/C&PJ at 160
all squat because I was weak but stubborn
weak as fuck today
MUs UB, easy pace, only hard part was deciding what episode of storage wars to watch to keep myself awake
Legs haven’t been this sore in a long time
1.) 75 kg
2.)112 kg (these were tough)
I seem to have a large discrepancy between snatch and clean
Did 10 500 meter rows, one every 3 minutes. so 1:45 work:1:15 rest
Conditioning: 8 rds + 500 m. Surprisingly all UB muscle-ups. Easy pace, don’t have a HR monitor
Altered my programming a bit to get some work in that I missed; had to mix and match a few things. Will do same tomorrow.
Snatch from blocks @ knee: 175,185,195,205,215,225,235 (pr-any position)
CnJ from blocks @ knee: warmed up to 225: 225,245,255,265,275
Went in with a different mental approach today, bar moved smooth on snatch work
HBBSx20: warmed up then went with 315. Hit 315 for 20 pretty easy. I think I can go double body weight on this ~350 or 365.
Conditioning: 10 rds of 7 C2b / 7 Thrusters ~ 8:29. The back squat definitely altered my pace, legs were affected a bit, but thrusters unbroken
1) 82,5 kg (10/10)
2) 97,5 kg (10/10)
11 rnd + 277m Row ; all MU UB
no HR monitor, easy pace and breath, a lot of walking around and chalking, little sweat-monster on the rower, nearly slipped off rings 3 times
yeah, so I tore my patella tendon yesterday doing jerk recoveries. The bar got stuck on the rubber ring of the squat rack safety bar on the right side and stupidly I still tried to lift it. My right leg was back and that was the knee that popped. Having surgery on Monday. Very sad but hope to recover soon. Keep up the good work and good luck at the open/games!
Only had time for conditioning…. cause I “accidentally” took 1 and 1/2 hours to stretch and roll out.
8 rds + 89 meters.. had HR monitor, stayed under 160. My training partner cheated so I tried to keep up with her but her HR got to 180+ most of the time.
10 + 172m Kept around 2:05 pace on rows. Muscle ups unbroken. Checked heart rate @ 15:00 (116) and 25:00 (124). 126 @ 30 minutes.
1) 210- 12/12 with some ugly starfishes
2) 260- These were an absolute crap show. Just terrible
Cond- 8+286 measuring HR each transition
Last Wednesday and today were ugly.
9+74m —-real chill pace
(No HR monitor, checked HR after every round, around 120-140)
1) 140. Felt great
2) 180. Like shit. I was all over the place on these, esp jerks. On 2nd set, with bar overhead, my back hyperextended and I nearly fell backwards. Back winced but with no pain, just spooked. Had 45 seconds to shake it off.
Conditioning: 6 rounds @ 500m row and 20 pushups. No rings and rowers are located far, far away from PU bars.
legs hurt. not first week of 7/13 hurt, but ouch.
10 rounds cause I wanted to do 40 muscle ups
1) 160 (full)
Cond: 10. All rows 2.15 and muscle ups UB.
hit 4 straight mu’s on the first round. after that it was 2, rest 30sec, get 2 more
1) 80 kg
2) 85 kg, trouble with PJ today
1) @ 190
2) @ 220
9 rounds + 490m 8 rnds mu’s unbroken and 1 round I thought I did 4 not 5 so I did extra one just in case.
Oops, I thought it was 5 muscle ups each round
BBG: 1) 160
Conditioning: worked on MU
9 ~ rows at 1:50, MU’s UB
WOD from 3/3- 9:25 Rx
11 rounds (No HR monitor, kept an easy pace. Wasn’t breathing hard at all.)
COND: skipped (First full week back to work after deployment and unit PT and work.schedule are already starting to affect my Outlaw training)
10 Rounds + 478m
Snatch @ 190
CnJ @ 210
Cond: 9rds+300m…No HR monitor, MU’s UB was able to have conversations with other clients.
1) 185# 5/5
2) 235(F)- dropped to 205#… wasn’t feeling PC&PJ
9 rounds plus 409m
3. 9 rounds
2/3/4 – Im still fried from those squats
1) 170# – 10/10
2) 210# – 10/10
8rds – struggled first two rounds, HR spiked broke up mu’s 2/2. Settled down on rower and did last 6 rounds UB MU’s
Mixed again today for recovery and make up missed work. Feels like someone beat the piss out of my legs from the 20 squats and 10rds of c2b/thrusters
Power snatchx2 5 min emom-185
PC+PJ x2 5 min emom-225
3×1 freestanding handstand holds:1:00
Condish: 5 rds of 12 t2b/12 burpee box jump 24″
70# kb swing. 6 rnds. Plus 3. Excited for 14.2
1) 140, 5lbs up from last week. Done
2) 200, 5-15lbs up from last week (I did 185×2 and 195×3). Only got the first set and singles for the rest Go 195 next week
Cond- 9 rounds even
9 Rounds complete…had to do bar muscle ups, no rings at my gym to set up high enough. I also did my muscle ups broken, could not go unbroken.
