  1. Snatch from Blocks @ Power Position (DEMO VIDEO): Take 10 minutes to work up to a heavy triple (no misses), then repeat for three sets – rest as needed.
  2. Clean & Jerk from Blocks @ Power Position (same position as Snatch – refer to above demo): Take 10 minutes to work up to a heavy double (no misses), then repeat for three sets – rest as needed.

  1. Is there a reason 1, 2a, and 2b are written as “reps X sets” while 3a and 3b are written as “sets X reps?” Seems like that will confuse a lot of people…

  5. Also, just wanted to ask another question. (If the forum was up, this would make for a good post…)

    Do any athletes cut weight before a competition? I weight 213 and I’ll be competing at the Dallas Europa War Games. It’s my first competition, so should I cut down to 200/205? Just to be lighter for body weight stuff? Any other advice, also?

      • Didn’t know an email to ask this, but to mention that the comments on the forum posts show up in reverse order. Was this an intentional design choice? I think it would make more sense (and consistent with other forums) to anyone reading a new post if the comments were in order of oldest post to newest post.   7. Followed your programming last year for about 2 months, saw my C&J jump from 205 to 225, my snatch from 155 to 185 (I weighed in at 165 lbs). Haven’t done much training since December due to a nasty car accident, easing my way back in but am looking forward to following your programming again.

    Normally I look to maybe do an extra set or two on snatch and CJ just cause I love them so much, after today’s disaster … blah! I’m pretty sure on the 2nd set of CJ with 255, ugly as sin, the exact words out of my mouth were “fuck this shit”. Then I proceeded to get even more pissed off as 4 dudes were using the only 2 squat racks to do some semblence of push press and quarter front squats with 95#. When I suggested they pick it up off the ground, they looked at me as if I was speaking another language. 20+ minutes later of more pouting, cursing and handstand practice.
