WOD 120517:
Rest Day.
After a 2 month beta-testing period, we are ready to launch our Remote Coaching program. During our testing period we tried to figure out what works and what doesn’t. We felt it was incredibly important to nail down some exact expectations and requirements for the athlete, and for the coach. Now that we’ve figured out what works best, it’s time to get started. If you have questions or are interested, please head over the the Remote Coaching page, and take a look.
It’s not often that you ask an athlete for a highlight video to run along with a feature story about them, and they offer to make a highlight video of their fails. I guess David Cornthwaite doesn’t need to be a me monster. That’s pretty refreshing considering the community we’re a part of. Here’s to David not having any fails this weekend.
Team CDR Redlands: 1st place IN THE WORLD, on the Snatch Ladder, with a total of 1140#. They have been following The Outlaw Way, as a team, since January.
Kyle Charbonneau: 1st place on the Snatch Ladder, Canada East Region. Jonathan Reid: 2nd place on the Snatch Ladder, Canada East Region. Both have been following The Outlaw Way since January.
I feel as if this is a bad question, but I know you guys know what you are talking about, so I figured that if I asked here I’d get a better answer than anyone on Youtube. Simply put, once I graduate high school I’m going to start following the Outlaw Way (simply because I don’t have the time, with exams and no car at the moment). In a low-bar back squat, I would assume that the bar is on the mid-traps?
Wu-Tang truly is what ODB said…

There’s a search function in the lower left side of the Outlaw Way site. It comes in handy.
I’ll own up to that one; my bad. Thanks!
I get the pleasure of wodding with Dave when we can both sneak out of our own gyms to train, and he definitely isn’t a ME Monster. I’ve watched this guy just get better and better every year, and he is constantly humble. Even with the circumstances mentioned in the article, he’s continued to push forward. Looking forward to competing next to him this weekend. Good luck in the North Central Dave!
“wodding” – You’re getting a cockpunch this weekend.
Damnit.
How unfortunate one of CFW’s girls had a shoulder injury- had she stuck the 105#minimun snatch requirement they’d be sitting pretty at 1185#. Well surpassed the current “world record”. Neither here nor there but I want to give my box props on a snatch ladder score that placed them in 2nd- with only 5 out of 6 team members lifting.
BA!!!
article on rob orlando going team this year on the games site. says his team is using outlaw crossfit.
Will there be a limit on how many athletes the remote coaching program takes? I don’t think I could start it until august but I’m itching to get the good stuff.
If this is more deserving of an email instead of a blog comment let me know.
I’m going to be in Chicago over the weekend for the North Central regional. Does anyone have a recommended gym to train at?
Where are you staying?
I’,m staying near Hyde Park, but I’m more than willing to travel a bit. I’ll be at regionals all three days, too.
It’s a little bit of a drive from Hyde Park, but CF Amplify in Lisle follows Outlaw. Its only about 15-20 min away from the Regional site though.
Piper, thanks for the heads up. I’ll keep that on my watch list.
Coach, when are you going to have a mufuckin seminar in the Northwest? Are you guys coming up to coach Kevin next week? Thanks.
How to win the Games according to Fronning-“Workout ALL day EVERY DAY.” It would appear that anyone that has any other responsibilities besides working out is SOL.
Hi guys,
there is a very good service name hudl.com on the internet. This could be a great tool for the athletes of “Remote Coaching” because you can upload your videos there and put comments and signs right into the uploaded video afterwards. It also has slowmo etc…We are using this for our football team and it works really great.
just my 2 cents
made the outlaw page, yeea boy
Heading to Scottsdale, AZ in June for some OPT coaching seminars, looking to save a few bucks on lodging. Any outlaws out that way willing to put me up for a few nights?
